What to Expect in a Submission Scoundrels Class

  • Warm-Up:

    Classes begin with dynamic stretches, joint mobility exercises, and light cardio. These activities prepare your body for the session, enhance flexibility, and prevent injuries.

  • Techniques:

    Learn and refine techniques with step-by-step instruction on BJJ and wrestling fundamentals, as well as advanced tactics. Beginner and advanced classes are offered to accommodate all skill levels.

  • Drills:

    Drills reinforce newly learned techniques through repetitive practice, improving reaction times and ensuring proper form under careful supervision.

  • Rolling/Sparring:

    Test your skills in rolling or sparring sessions, matched by skill level. These friendly competitions gauges your progress and understanding areas for improvement.

  • No! We pride ourselves on hosting classes that everyone from all levels of experience can enjoy. If it's your first or thousandth time on the mat, we welcome you to our club!

  • Our group classes are open from ages 16 and upwards. However, anyone is welcome to book a one-to-one class and have a tailored training session with Chris.

  • Gradings are offered but are entirely optional. The length of time between belts depends on the current belt, next belt and prior experience. If in doubt, ask your instructor!

  • The full pricing structure can be found on our timetable page. There are no hidden fees, though do be aware that you will have to insure yourself on a yearly basis.

  • Sparring is also optional, but definitely encouraged. Sparring takes place after every class, where you are welcome to jump in and out as you please.
